Colombia's Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) continued to show the recovery seen since February 2017. Consumer confidence reached 1.5 points, achieving a positive reading for the first time in 27 months. The recovery in consumer confidence was driven by an improvement in the economic conditions component, as well as the expectations index. As a result, the CCI improved in four of the five cities surveyed, with the index deteriorating significantly in Medellín. This performance is in line with the results of the Gross Domestic Product growth released last Tuesday, as it confirms that the slowdown experienced by the Colombian economy over the previous two years may be coming to an end.
