According to import declarations filed with the DIAN for August 2022, Colombian imports increased by 29.4% in CIF terms, from US$4,922 billion in 2021 to US$6,368 billion in 2022. This growth was mainly due to a 21.8% increase in manufacturing, 74.3% in fuels and extractive industries, 45.8% in agricultural, food, and beverage products, and 26% in other sectors. Similarly, manufacturing imports accounted for 73.1% of the total CIF value of imports, followed by agricultural, food, and beverage products with 16.4%, fuels and extractive industries with 10.3%, and other sectors with 0.1%.
