  • Macroeconomy: This week, inflation data for October will be released. Our models suggest that inflation will continue to decline slowly to 10.78% annually (0.51% monthly) in the baseline scenario, with a range of 10.50%–11.0%. Internationally, the economic calendar is short. Key data include the trade balance, the Eurozone manufacturing PMI, and inflation in China.

  • Fixed rent: U.S. Treasury bonds experienced positive performance, led by the movement in long- and intermediate-term bonds, which fell an average of 26.3 bp across 5- and 30-year bonds, while the short end of the curve narrowed more modestly, with bonds below 1 year falling between 1.7 bp and 6 bp.

  • Variable income:  This week, the market will be closely monitoring the strength of the rebound in foreign investors and the release of results from Ecopetrol and Cementos Argos. We expect a week that could be one of recovery; however, there will be significant volatility due to corporate earnings.

  • Coins: Last week, all G10 currencies experienced positive movements, a rare occurrence this year. The Colombian peso continued its solid performance, driven by several factors. First, unfavorable macroeconomic data in the United States contributed to the appreciation of the local currency. Second, the majority of the Bank of the Republic's directors voted to maintain the interest rate at its current level of 13.25%.

We believe that every investor should diversify their investments across a variety of asset classes, in any market environment or trend, and should work closely with their financial advisor on an ongoing basis to ensure that their portfolio is properly structured and that their financial plan supports their long-term goals, time horizon and risk tolerance.
